Unraveling the Chronicles of Dream: “Haalim” – An Epic Tale of Time.

Haalim, a whole world that is unique to its experience. Taaliya Muraad, the strongest lead ever and Van Fateh bin Ramzal takes you to an interesting ride of time travel, bringing Adam bin Muhammad in the adventure.

“Haalim,” an Arabic word meaning “A dreamer/visionary,” is an Urdu language novel written by Nemrah Ahmed. Haalim revolves around the mystery of time travel and the lives of three prisoners of time.

  • Taaliya Muraad, a Con artist based in Kuala Lampur and a dreamer, heads on to discover the hidden treasure that turns into non-materialistic treasure.
  • Van Fateh bin Ramzal, a visionary politician who knows the magic of words, runs for election to serve his country.
  • Adam Bin Muhammad, a self-deprived young individual, learns to accept himself.

The novel focuses on healing, self-reflection, improving oneself, and forgiving oneself. While it brilliantly succeeds in expressing human emotions, it also hooks you to an adventure ride. The contrast between the 15th-century Malacca Sultanate and 21st-century Malaysia was beautifully presented. The vivid description of the landscape and setting makes it easier for the reader to immerse in the scenes. From the rainforest of Old Malacca to the cruise of Egypt, the novel makes you travel a lot, despite being seated on your couch.

While it is one of the must-reads for anyone looking to read fascinating, historic fiction with an aspect of time travel, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea due to the length of this novel. It has over 2000-2200 pages, which does make you stay with the characters for a longer time, but it may not be for everyone who loves to read a new genre every other day. Personally, I had no issue with the length as I thoroughly explored the strengths and weaknesses of each character and their background.

To sum up, Haalim is unique and provides a very beautiful addition to Urdu literature. It is a must-read for anyone who wants to unveil the mystery of time!
